First day back to school!!

This is Josh, my 17 year Senior!
This is Wes, my almost 15 year old Sophomore!

I just can't believe it...how did they get so big, and I'm still the same. It's just amazing to me that I only have one more year with Josh and a very short 3 with Wes. Most of you would say, how fun they must be at this age. Of course you are right! We have great conversation, we can see movies together, we all can watch the same movie! But, they also are growing up and need me and my husband less and less. They are interested in being mostly with their friends, which is of course very normal. But, they are finished wanting to hang at the pool with mom, and going to the store, and really really done with hanging at the mall. So, it's sort of a double-edged sword. But, it's so neat to watch them turn into such interesting, nice, sweet, and thoughtful young men. I feel so proud of them and who they are becoming. On this first, and last first day of high school for Josh it has caused me to really think about my time with them, and thus the reason for this post. I know it's natural, and a phase of life, but I still feel 25!! What a blessing they are and I'm so grateful for them.

Hi Beth, I found your site from another blog. I love it! Your sons look great. I have a 17 year old daughter who is a Senior. She is my last. But I have a son named Cardiff Wesley. I love the name Wes. Hey great job on your blog and your posts. I read through them and just LOVE your site. It is fun!
Have a lovely day!

What handsome boys! My oldest is going into 8th grade & I'm already freaking out that he's too old. I can see the changes in him & like you said, it's a double-edged sword. You want them to grow up & you don't. At least I have a while until all four kids are gone. The youngest is 2 1/2.

Hi Beth,
I've visited your blog before, but have never left a comment. Your post rings true for me too. My daughter has started her senior year too, and I have the same feelings that you talked about. I can't believe how quickly the time went. Now it's on to the next adventure...choosing a college!
Take Care.
